Condensation occurs when warm moist air meets a cold surface.
There is always moisture in the air but excessive condensation can lead to mould growth on walls, windows, furniture and fabrics and increase the presence of dust mites. The presence of mould and dust mites can make existing respiratory conditions, such as asthma and bronchitis, worse. Providing the correct ventilation and temperature in your home will help prevent condensation and mould.
Please see our leaflet Controlling Condensation & Mould In Your Homefor further information on how to prevent and treat condensation and mould in your home.
