Coming Together for Wellbeing: Highlights from our 2025 Gathering in Narberth

On Wednesday 21st May, we welcomed customers from across the community to our Wellbeing Gathering 2025 at the Queens Hall, Narberth – an event designed to listen, share and offer support in response to the ongoing pressures of the cost of living.

Held in a relaxed and inclusive setting, the gathering provided space for conversation and connection. Customers joined small group discussions with a wide range of ateb team members and partner organisations to talk through their experiences and find out what support is available.

David Tovey our Head of Customer said “If we want to deliver the right services, we have to listen to what our customers actually need – that’s why days like these are so important.”

Whether it was learning about digital support from our Community Welfare Coordinator Andrew Jenkins, discussing energy-saving tips with our Home Energy Officer Catherine Morse, or raising property concerns with our Head of Property – the event gave customers the chance to be heard and to hear from us.

We were also joined by fantastic local partners including:

A free buffet lunch, tea, coffee and cake were enjoyed by all, and accessibility and travel support ensured that everyone who wanted to attend could.

What customers told us:

“I felt heard – that was the first time I’ve felt not being passed around various departments. I’m very, very happy.” – Lorna

“This has been very informative… I don’t think I’ll be afraid to ask questions any more. It’s been great.” – Gail

“A good way to network and talk about my personal issues – and how I’ll get a resolution.” – Tracey

In total, 36 customers attended, speaking with a wide mix of ateb staff from across our services, including property, support, decarbonisation and community engagement. For some, it was their first opportunity to put a face to the name, raise concerns, or get advice on issues like repairs, rising energy costs or the increased need for digital security.

Here’s what else they had to say:

“I will make changes in my life with regards to saving energy, recycling and getting more involved with ateb because of this event.”

“Meeting people, sharing valuable information on wellbeing, utility bills and general services provided – a very useful and informative event.”

“It was nice to put names to faces and good to know there’s help out there.”

We’d like to thank everyone who came along and shared their experiences. Your voices matter, and we’re proud to create spaces where together, we can shape better support.
