This week we held a Meet the Contractor Day as part of our new ateb Retrofit tender opportunity, and it was great to see so many organisations in the room.
The event, held at Queen’s Hall in Narberth, brought together contractors interested in delivering retrofit and planned works across ateb homes. It gave prospective partners the opportunity to meet the ateb team and members of Jewson Partnership Solutions (JPS). They were able to learn more about our ambitions and ask questions about the contract and what we’re looking for.
What is a Meet the Contractor Day?
Before the tender closes, we open the door and have an honest conversation. We explain the scope of the work, the standards we expect, how we operate, and what partnership working looks like at ateb. Contractors can ask questions, understand our values, and decide whether we’re the right fit for them, just as importantly as we consider whether they’re the right fit for us.
Why it matters
Holding events like this is important to us because we want the very best fit for ateb and for our customers.
Retrofit work affects people’s homes – where they live, raise families and build their lives. We need to make sure it’s right. By meeting face-to-face, setting clear expectations and encouraging open dialogue, we strengthen our chances of appointing partners who share our commitment to quality, collaboration and long-term thinking.
This tender includes seven lots covering:
- Planned Electrical
- Planned Mechanical
- Retrofit Electrical
- Retrofit Mechanical
- Fabric
- Whole House
- M&E Consultancy
All lots are being procured for a 2 + 1 + 1 year contract period, supporting longer-term partnership working and delivery certainty.
