Sometimes it’s the smallest gestures that make the biggest difference.

As part of ateb’s Community Benefit Programme, long-standing contractor Tickety Boo has been giving something back by cleaning the outside communal windows of several of our apartment buildings – helping customers enjoy brighter and cleaner views.

For Jennie and her team, it wasn’t something they were asked to do – they aren’t window cleaners. It simply came from noticing an opportunity to help.

“We’ve cleaned inside communal areas for ateb for over 21 years,” explained Jennie. “While cleaning we could see the outside of the windows were often green with algae. Even though the inside had been cleaned, it could still look like they hadn’t been touched.

“We already had the equipment, so we thought, why not?”

As well as making our apartment buildings look brighter and more welcoming, Tickety Boo’s support is helping keep more money in customers’ pockets. External window cleaning isn’t included as part of ateb’s standard communal cleaning service because the cost would need to be passed on to customers through their service charges. By giving their time and expertise through our Community Benefit Programme, Tickety Boo is able to provide this extra touch completely free of charge – creating brighter homes without creating extra costs.

For the small team at Tickety Boo, making a positive difference is just part of what they do. Over the years they’ve built lasting relationships with many ateb customers.

“I’ve seen customers’ children grow up and have families of their own,” said Jennie. “You get to know people over the years, and it’s lovely to see how much something as simple as clean windows can brighten someone’s day.”

Tickety Boo has a long history of supporting local communities beyond their day-to-day work. They have donated toys to PATCH’s Christmas Appeal and provided sanitary products to local schools to help tackle period poverty.

Their contribution through ateb’s Community Benefit Programme is another example of how working together can create better living solutions for our communities.
