On Wednesday 1st April, we welcomed over 140 customers – including lots of families and children – to a brilliant community event at The Cricketers on Imble Lane. With many attendees from West Merrion Drive, Boundary View, Cuckoo Wood and Spring View, it was a great opportunity for neighbours to connect, have fun and build stronger local relationships.
The day was packed with activities for all ages. Indoors, customers got involved in first aid sessions and creative woodcraft – using shaving benches to make and decorate their own items to take home. Outside, there was archery, sports activities, National Park sessions, Fire Engines to have a nose around and a huge Easter egg hunt, which was a big hit with younger attendees.

Events like this are all about more than just a great day out. They’re about helping people feel part of a community, supporting wellbeing, and creating opportunities for customers to connect with the people and services that can make a real difference in their lives.
Before the event, customers shared what support they’d like to see in their communities. This included things like gardening, mental health support, healthier cooking, employment advice, recycling, financial support and more. We used this feedback to bring together a wide range of partners who could offer help – not just on the day, but longer term too.

A big thank you to all who attended and helped create such a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.
By working together and listening to what matters most to our customers, we’re helping to build stronger, more connected communities across West Wales.
