Learning, Listening, and Strengthening Togetherness and Inclusion at ateb

Togetherness and inclusion are not simply actions to be checked off a list; they are part of our DNA. This is reflected in our annual training for all our team, where we aim to develop our understanding of equality in the workplace. Rather than repeating the same material each year, we select a new area of equality to explore. Last year, our efforts centred on raising awareness of sexual harassment. This year, our focus shifted towards anti-racism, aligning with the Welsh Government’s Anti-racist Wales Action Plan.

We were delighted to partner with Stori, who delivered a thought-provoking session that examined the history of racism and shed light on the barriers to inclusion and equality. One of the most powerful elements of the session was a video sharing individuals’ lived experiences of racism.

“I found the video on individuals’ lived experiences really moving, and it gave me a better understanding of the impact of racism on individuals. We can all make a difference and improve togetherness and inclusion in our personal and professional lives.”

Our Commitment to Addressing Domestic Abuse

Domestic abuse is not acceptable, and at ateb we are dedicated to ensuring that all members of our team are equipped with the knowledge to support those who seek help. We believe it is crucial that our team knows how to appropriately signpost individuals to the support and resources they may need.

Whether encountered in our professional roles or personal lives, having a clear understanding of what constitutes domestic abuse and being aware of the right contacts for advice and support can make a significant difference. This knowledge can be invaluable when supporting someone in need. To help us do this, we recently partnered with Welsh Women’s Aid, who delivered Domestic Abuse Awareness training for our teams, ensuring that everyone is better prepared to recognise signs of abuse and provide the necessary guidance to those affected.
