When you become an ateb tenant, you will sign a tenancy agreement which will outline your responsibilities as a tenant, and our responsibilities as your landlord. Please take the time to read this carefully!
Your tenancy is a contract between you and ateb that sets out our obligations to each other when we let a property to you. We typically use an Assured Tenancy Agreement . The tenancy will set out a number of things such as the following:
Rent and Service charges – it will detail how much rent and other charges you will pay and how often these charges will be reviewed.
Maintenance – it will state what maintenance is your responsibility and what ateb will undertake e.g. you are generally required to change light bulbs, ateb must fix faulty light switches.
Dealing with problems – where problems arise with the use of your home, the tenancy sets out how you and ateb should resolve the problem.
To help with the understanding of the requirements of the Tenancy we are developing a Customer handbook that discusses in more detail how to get the best from your ateb home.
However, here are some frequently asked questions that may be useful to you.
